One, two three,
You can't catch me.
Slick as a cat,
Quick as a bat,
I slide through the night,
Avoiding the light.
In the shadows I hide,
Wishing day will never arrive.
A lonely soul wandering around,
My prey I now have found.
Silent and swift,
I catch it.
A smile forms on my lips,
His neck I slowly twist.
Slithering from my mouth,
My fangs point south.
With one quick thrust,
The vein has bust.
Through the river of red,
Our souls momentarily wed.
A few more seconds more to heed,
And I shall have all I need.
Now stepping back,
Its soul turned black.
No one has seen,
The death that has been.
And so I return,
With nothing left to yearn,
Into the shadows of the night,
Avoiding the light.
