Mael was the druid priest that took Marius from his mortal life to become the new god of the grove. After Marius escapes Mael goes in search of a new ´god´ to transform him. Meal found Avicus in Britain and helped him escape in return for the dark blood. Avicus and Mael remain together and track down Marius to make him reveal the secret of Those Who Must Be Kept. They return to Marius again to enlist his help in destroying a pagan sect of vampires and their leader. Mael reappears later with Maharet he becomes protective of Maharet´s mortal descendent Jesse, seeking to give her his blood so she will no longer be weak. Maharet eventually turns Jesse later. |
